MISSION STATEMENT
Articles of Incorporation of Aha Hui E Kala, a Nonprofit Corporation
Article III: Corporate Purpose Section 3.1 Purposes.
The Corporation is organized exclusively for the following purposes:
(i) For the creation of the Lawai International Center which will be the gathering place for all people to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen, to feel what cannot be touched, to know peace and to receive the true spirit of Aloha. Toward this end, the Lawai International Center will be developed as a site where individuals from all parts of the world can get in touch with the vestiges of their spiritual and cultural roots and traditions. Aha Hui E Kala will also offer and foster educational and public awareness programs dealing with cultural traditions embodied in ancient Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, and other cultures including but not limited to music, art, literature, drama, dances, and cultural and humanitarian teachings and activities of said cultures. Programs to spread the concept and true meaning of Aloha will also be developed and nurtured internationally. The Lawai International Center will be a place of rest and recuperation for all mankind and a place of healing.
(ii) To operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, religious, or educational purposes, within the meaning of Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provisions of any future United States internal revenue law).
